In keeping with our mission to contribute to the study of the Middle East and as a professional courtesy, CMES makes available a limited number of Associate Memberships to help further the research of active scholars living in Chicago and the surrounding region, or who will be residing in this area for an extended period. Associate Membership status is valid for three years, and is renewed at the discretion of the Center. Associate Membership confers limited privileges to the University of Chicago's library system, which houses one of the nation's strongest Middle East sections. However, conferring membership is often a lengthy process. New memberships can take upwards of six months. Existing members seeking renewal are urged to begin the process at least three months before the expiration of their present membership.
